Timothy W. Chang, M.D. is the only Board Certified and Fellowship trained Mohs surgeon performing Mohs for Melanoma in San Diego.
- He specializes in skin cancer and reconstructive surgery, cosmetic dermatology, laser surgery, and general dermatology.
Dr. Chang received his Bachelors of Science (B.S.) degree from Brigham Young University and his Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin. He completed his Internal Medicine Internship at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts followed by Dermatology Residency at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. Dr. Chang completed Fellowship in Mohs Micrographic Surgery & Dermatologic Oncology at the University of California, San Francisco. As an integral part of the fellowship, he received extensive training in cosmetic dermatology and laser surgery.
Dr. Chang is a native of Southern California. He enjoys volunteering and has performed humanitarian medical work in Tanzania, Africa. His interests include mountaineering for which he has climbed Mount Kilimanjaro, the tallest mountain in Africa and tallest free-standing mountain in the world, as well as Mount Whitney, the tallest mountain in the contiguous United States. He is a black belt in TaeKwonDo and an Eagle Scout. He and his wife enjoy spending time outdoors with their three children.
Dr. Chang maintains staff privileges at Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and a Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery, as well as a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.
